Bowed double bass, electric guitar, glockenspiel, a woman singing an Indian-style devotional song, strings, bagpipes? , a free-jazz saxophone solo and that's just the intro. Certainly the craziest thing you'll have heard in a long while. Lyrical and well up for a bout or two of furious head-banging, Dolphy Kick Bebop are difficult to pigeonhole. Their brand of mayhem is accessible and enjoyable, but impossible to dismiss as trivial or frivolous. It's as wild and edgy as they come. Mighty! martin corey

Nikhil Banerjee is one of the---if not the---finest sitar players ever to have lived. To have more recordings of his work is nothing short of a blessing. boostopasta
